Sale's pub is named after James Prescott Joule, the physicist who lived in the town and whose name became the unit of energy. It is a good example of the chain's naming habit producing something genuinely local, and of why a Wetherspoons in this county is not identifiable from its sign.
The menu is identical across all 17. The all-day brunch is £10.12, the smaller fish and chips is £9.65, and an 11 inch margherita is £9.38. Chester, as a tourist city, tends to price above the surrounding towns, since each pub sets its own. Full menu here.
